Distance / Home Learning

Even before the Covid pandemic, this method of study was becoming increasingly popular with both individuals and employers. Now it is the first choice for most people.

We have been offering this method of study for many years and we have tried and tested processes in place to ensure you have a fantastic learning experience. Each course is developed and fine-tuned at our bricks and mortar training centre in Coventry before being released for use as a distance / home learning course.

The Distance Learning process

OCR / RSA Training Courses

Each unit in our OCR / RSA range of Text Processing courses follows the same process. Please note that our Award courses each consist of 2 units and so the following sequence will be repeated. Our Diploma courses each consist of 3 units and so the following sequence will be followed 3 times.

  • We will email your initial learning materials, first set of exercises and instructions to you, together with details of your named tutor. When you have completed an exercise in this first set you email your work to your personal tutor. Your tutor will then mark your work and provide you with constructive feedback. There are several exercises to complete in this initial stage.

Four further sets of exercises are then emailed for completion, marking and feedback in the same way, as follows:

  • Paper 1 (Practice) - This set of exercises is completed with no time pressure. The accuracy of the work produced is the priority.
  • Paper 2 (Practice) - This paper is also not timed. Accuracy is again the priority.
  • Paper 3 (Practice Assessment) - This paper should be completed in a set time. Speed is now added to the accuracy previously developed.
  • Paper 4 (Assessment) - This paper must be completed in a set time.

Microsoft Word Training Courses
